See, I find that the characters that need to die, will die if I plan the story or not... It might just take me longer to realise, and be harder for me to deal with... But that is good, cause then I have the emotions that I need to write those scenes... I have a death coming up soon though... And I half want to get it over with, and am half fighting it... But that wasn't planned... It was a "*gasp!* OMG, this character has to die, doing this thing!" And now we are all just tumbling down the slope together...
Sometimes if I plan, I STILL don't see that they have to die till it is about to happen... And I find if I plan too much, I can't write with as much gusto...
With planning, it is like following a map, or a well worn path... Without planning it is like running through the bush with no idea where you are going, or when something terrible is going to happen... Like a snake springing up and biting you on the face...
I kinda like the unknown, the adventure, the excitement... Keeps it interesting, keeps me writing!
But TOO unknown and you just have no clue if you should keep going or stop, and you end up sinking in quicksand... Gotta avoid the quicksand...
