Dreams

Postby Trinity on Sun May 18, 2008 12:37 am

Ever since December of 05' I've kept a dream log. Though that may seem like a long time I've only written 28 of my dreams down. My lastest one being on the 13 of May.

Out of those 28 dreams 5 of them have been turned into stories.

I found that before I started this dream log I didn't write as often and didn't have as much inspiration for new stories. Whenever I dream something completely different than anything I've ever seen, I write it down. Or when my dreams are interesting. :P

This is a great way to get inspiration for stories, at least I think it is, when I read back through my dream log I see the dream one of my stories came from and it makes me want to write.

So if you're stuck and frustrated because you want to write something new turn to your dreams. Just maybe you'll get inspiration for that story.

*nods* Yes, dreams are good. The few times I actually manage to remember my dreams (which is not often at all) I've found that they make for cool stories, too :) And daydreams, if you have those, can inspire stories.

You too? I keep mine on my computer, so if it crashes...there go my dreams. *pause* I NEED TO PUT THEM ON MY PENDRIVE!

Wait...what if that crashes? Hm...I suppose that's the universes' way of saying "screw you, Hawkins". XD

Yay! I've never met anyone who writes their dreams down. Except me of course but I know me......

Mine are on my laptop and a USB stick and my computer, so if I lose all three of those, then obviously I had terrible luck. :P

I usually turn my daydreams into stories. They seem to unravel easier.

I turn my daydreams into stories. The best time to daydream is in spanish when you're just about to fall asleep and then something wakes you up and you're like, "Was I just dreaming about superheroes and underground Spam tunnels?"

I've never been able to keep a dream journal, or any journal, really. Or remember my dreams. But the best way to fall asleep is to tell myself a story. They're usually not any good and mostly fanfic... but they keep me entertained, which is the point

That's good for me sometimes, but other times I just get too in to the story and then can't fall asleep cause I get really excited...

I daydream before I go to bed too! But like Marianas it's mostly fanfic. Then I don't want to fall asleep until I finish the thought but then I fall asleep and when I wake up I'm like CRAP I didn't finish that thought! I'll have to tonight. :P

I hate thinking about stories before I fall asleep cause when I do I think of this awesome stuff to write down and by morning it's all gone.

Me too!!!! It seems to me that the ONLY time I get good ideas for stories is when it is very late and there is school tomorrow and I am lying in bed trying to go to sleep. Sometimes I have to get up and write in the silly little notebook about six times before I fall asleep!
