The Shadow of something or other

Postby Carrots on Sat May 31, 2008 7:48 am

So I'm writing again... kinda. I'm actually DMing. (For those of you who understand that I'm actually playing as a character too, which makes things complicated)
Which in Common (as opposed to Geekese) tongue means: "I'm creating story and world for people to roleplay in. (My life sucks)"
However my campaign needs a title. So far it's The Shadow of. It kinda needs a better title. To explain the basics, this takes place on a continent without a name so far. 2048 years prior to the events of our story, there was a rift into the Nether Worlds (where demons, devils, and other evil banished creatures live) tore open. There was a huge war. Finally Tordex prayed to the gods, who sent down their angels, and in a massive battle of d20s and d12s the forces of evil were held back while a giant wall was built and imbued with magic. Beyond that wall is called... well beyond the wall, and no one has entered it for 2048 years. Now a crack in the wall is causing areas near the wall to become corrupted. So the dead are beginning to walk and other wonderful stuff like that.
So I need a title. And any reviews of the plot would be nice, but remember this isn't a novel, otherwise I'd never accept it. This is a plot designed for people to be able to have nice fights without my paladin friend loses his status of paladin (they can't do evil things, literally).
Man writing that out made it sound really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really (thank you copy and paste) cliché.

Don't worry, this doesn't mean I'm not going to be FigNo, but I really need to restart the brain first, plus this is something I can do with friends.

I think you need to re-write that. I'm normally pretty good at understanding you, Jeeves, but that didn't make much sense besides the plot part. That part I understood and it sounds like every other story with demons and evil things.

I understood it. :D I should work in an asylum, I'll understand EXACTLY what all the patients are rambling about...anyway, you should use seventhsanctum.com or something like that...they've got loads of cool generators. ^^

Don't worry Bee, I'm just asking for help naming the campaign. And I also do realize the plot sucks, but I figure that:
a) It's DnD, the point isn't really the plot as much as the interactions.
b) It's my first time DMing and I don't know what I'm doing, so I don't want plot to distract me too much.

Also Hawkins, understanding the non-plot part of that doesn't mean you can understand insane people, it means you're a geek.
