Nano '08: What will you be writing?

Postby Figment on Sat Oct 11, 2008 6:55 am

OK, so what are you writing this year? What Genre? What is it all about?

I will be writing Muntaer, it is Fantasy/Sci-Fi. Set on a medieval world, where aliens are invading.
Each of my Main Characters has been directly affected by the hostile alien race that is taking over the planet, and they set out to stop the alien regime.
The first couple of chapters were posted on the old forum... You may remember Kitael & Mishari, and Darien & Amray... I plan to restart, and get a lot further with them this time! :D

What about you guys, any ideas? Are you trying to choose between a couple, or struggling for an idea at all?

Mine is The Fate Of Three, which is the sequel to Destined To Die :D

Obviously, it is fantasy :D
A common misconception is that dragons hoard gold. This is half true. Dragons have an unusual sense of value and will actually hoard *anything* they get their claws on. This could be gold coins, or any coins, cds, and other shiny things, through to toys, plushies and oddly shaped leaves, colourful stones and fancy international bottlecaps.

I'll be writing Crystler.

it is a fantasy story with maybe a hint of Sci-Fi.

It revolves around two girls and two different realties. One good and one bad.

The two girls happen to look into a mirror at the same time during a crazy storm and switch places.

Now they have to figure out how to survive in the other's world and what exactly caused them to switch places. Before it's too late.

The banner in my siggy is obviously for this story. ^^

I don't know...

I was going to write Airship, but now I'm not sure if I want to. So I have no idea.

ETA: Ok, I think I'm doing Airship.

Okay, so they're aren't stories, but I'm doing these for NaNo (I don't care it's unrelated, it gives me a deadline).

Take the 'A' Train for 1 bari, 2 tenors, 2 altos
An Original Blues Composition
An Original ii-V-I Composition

I don't know what the last two are for, I haven't written anything for them yet.
Also for NaNo I plan to write (yes, write as in words):
The Tenor Chronicles: The Semi-autobiographical Diaries of a [insert term for section] - This'll be a monthly article that I want to start off with a lot and edit down, but I'd like a pretty long thing to keep for myself.

My working title is Petersburg. It's historical fantasy, and follows the lives of three people in a faerie-twisted version of St. Petersburg, Russia, around the year 1870. It's got love, murder, blackmail and mermaids.

Heh, thanks. I'm still a few thousand words away from my first mermaid scene.

Oh, and they're actually river mermaids. Which, in this setting, makes them canal and sewer mermaids.
