The NaNo progress thread

Well, NaNoWriMo 2008 is underway at last!
This is the place where you can procrastinate, complain, whinge, moan, and dance for joy at how NaNo is going for you!

Me, I stayed up until almost 2am last night and got over 1k done then. Now, so far so good. I'm above the daily average I need to maintain over the month (1,667 for those who don't know!), and all is going well! Huzzah!

What's the betting that won't last!
A common misconception is that dragons hoard gold. This is half true. Dragons have an unusual sense of value and will actually hoard *anything* they get their claws on. This could be gold coins, or any coins, cds, and other shiny things, through to toys, plushies and oddly shaped leaves, colourful stones and fancy international bottlecaps.


Gathering of the Figments shall be offline from May 1st for about 1-2 weeks. Email me if you would like further details.

I stayed up until 3am and got 1004 words.

It's still day 1.

EDIT: Day 1 is officially over (it's 12:33 so I'll be popping over to the insomniac thread presently) and my final wordcount for the day is 5,332.

Day 2 now, and I'm over 4k!!!
Aiming to have at least 5k by the end of the day :D

12,338. I was going for 12.5k, since that is exactly 1/4 done, but I've had enough wine to make me tired and it's 12:30.

I'm at 11,729 words which is where I'm supposed to be by day 7. I'm still wanting to stab my story but I'm hoping the urge will pass.

I'm only at 8,500 words, in three complete scenes, which leaves me almost 5,000 behind where I should be. But 50,000 isn't my personal goal. Writing the first half of my manuscript is, and I might do that in 40,000 words.

Still, I'm slacking.

I lost most of the lead I got in Arizona, but I'm still not behind. Yay. Now just as long as school doesn't kick my ass.
